I will be the beta reader for your novel or short story and give useful feedback
About:
Have you finished a short story or novel?
That’s great! But don’t just send it out blind, or get it copy
edited and throw it up on Kindle. Get some feedback on the story
itself and see how you might make it better. There are so many
things that can make the difference between an okay story and one
that grabs a reader and won't let them go. Things like:
- Setups and payoffs
- Continuity
- Character relatability
- Tension
- Genre-specific structures
- Etc.
I’ve published ten novels and over a hundred short stories, many
in national magazines like Woman's World, Boys' Life, Grain,
Altair, and Stitches: the journal of medical humor.
I've also been a first or beta reader for fellow pros who write
romance, SF, fantasy, literary, mystery, and screenplays. I’ve
studied the rules (and how to break them) and continue to learn
from the best.
Now I'd love to be your first reader and share some of what I've learned so far.
Look forward to working with you.

jessicamarl1:Terry provided me with much needed direction in the weak areas. I get to a point where I can't find anything else to tweak and improve on, and Terry comes through. Some now so very obvious, and a few not so obvious. By far the best Beta Reader I've worked with. I couldn't achieve my goal of putting out the best book possible without him. Thank you.
terryhayman:wonderful experience. I always learn so much working with good writers
caromc:I bought this gig to complete my story. Terry helped me achieve that. I am very glad to have worked with him. His suggestions were great and made me think differently around the project. I will refer him and I will use him again.
terryhayman:Thanks, Caroline. It was great working with you.
caromc:Working with this Seller was a great experience. He asked probing questions which made me rethink each draft, helped me focus on the story and explore the emotions of the characters which helped me improve my writing. \n\n\nI thoroughly enjoyed working with Terry. I appreciate his comments and questions and his effort to read my work. Thank you. \n
