As long as it lasts, it keeps the world with all of its attending str ess away from us. Even if it is only temporary, those hours count so much in the scheme of our lives. As a close cousin to Fantasy, Sci-Fi is joyful in the way it calls the child in all of us. We want to save the day; kick ass; be the hero; do some Star Trekking; time travel; be a superhero; travel to other worlds in a spaceship; or at the very least, swing a light saber.
